Since 2011 Friends of the Soldiers Home has been a leader for hundreds of retired veterans of all service branches living on the AFRH’s Washington DC campus. Our services ensure neighbors from the surrounding community and beyond are involved in helping residents thrive in retirement. The Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH) is the nation’s oldest continuously operating retirement community for enlisted military personnel. Help us maintain the mission that began in 1851 - to provide a premier retirement community to veterans with exceptional residential care and extensive support services.

Private giving is a key funding source for nonprofit retirement communities and veteran service organizations.
